Ease Your Mind.

Getting Started

1. What type of massage should I book?

You don't have to know exactly what you need before you arrive. We'll talk about how you're feeling, what you're hoping to get from your session, and choose an approach that feels right for you.

2. What can I expect at my first session?

We'll begin with a short conversation about your goals, preferences, areas of concern, and anything I should be aware of. From there, your session is tailored around you.

3. What should I wear to my massage?

Wear what feels comfortable to your appointment. For traditional massage, you'll undress only to your comfort level and remain appropriately draped throughout the session. Some gentle bodywork techniques may be performed while fully clothed.

4. What if I have an injury or medical condition?

Please let me know about any injuries, recent surgeries, health conditions, or sensitive areas before your session. This helps us choose an approach that is comfortable and appropriate for your individual needs.

Massage & Bodywork Services

1. What is Swedish relaxation massage? Swedish massage uses long, flowing strokes and gentle to moderate pressure to help relax muscles, ease everyday tension, and encourage relaxation. It's a wonderful choice when you're looking to slow down, unwind, and give your body some care.

2. What is somatic myofascial bodywork?

Somatic myofascial bodywork is a gentle, hands-on approach that works with the body's connective tissues while helping you become more aware of what you're feeling. Slow, intentional techniques can help soften areas of restriction, bring attention to sensation, and support relaxation and body awareness..

3. What is craniosacral therapy?

Craniosacral therapy uses very light, sustained touch, often around the head, neck, spine, and sacrum. This gentle approach focuses on relaxation, body awareness, and creating a quiet, supportive experience without forceful pressure.

4. Do you offer cupping or hot stones?

Yes! Cupping and hot stones may be incorporated into your massage when appropriate, based on your preferences, comfort, and session goals. We can discuss these options before beginning.

During Your Session.

1. Do I have to talk during my massage?

Not at all. Some people prefer complete quiet, while others enjoy conversation or sharing what they're noticing in their bodies. Your session is your time, and there's no pressure either way.

2. What if I fall asleep during my massage?

That's perfectly okay! It's common to become sleepy or drift off during a relaxing massage. You don't need to stay awake or worry about missing anything. Simply enjoy your time to rest.

3. What if I get emotional during my session?

That's completely okay. Somatic bodywork invites you to notice what you're feeling in your body, and sometimes emotions can surface as you slow down and become more aware of those sensations. If that happens, we can slow the work, give you space to breathe and settle, and support you without needing to explain or analyze what comes up.

4. Does massage have to be deep or painful to be effective?

Not at all. Deeper pressure isn't always necessary to address tension or encourage relaxation. My approach tends to be gentler and more intentional, working with your body's responses rather than forcing change. Your comfort always matters.

After Your Massage.

1. What should I do after my massage?

Take a little time to notice how your body feels before jumping back into your day. Drink water as you normally would, enjoy gentle movement if it feels good, and give yourself time to rest if you need it.

2. Is it normal to feel sore after a massage?

Some people experience temporary tenderness or mild soreness after massage, while others feel relaxed and refreshed. Everyone responds differently. Please let me know if you have concerns about how you're feeling afterward.

3. How often should I get a massage?

That depends on your goals, lifestyle, and how your body responds. Some people enjoy occasional sessions for relaxation, while others benefit from more consistent bodywork. We can discuss what makes sense for you without any pressure to commit.

4. Should I tip my massage therapist?

Tips are always appreciated, but never expected. As an independent massage therapist, my rates reflect the care and time that go into each session, so there's no obligation to leave a gratuity. Rebooking, referrals, and reviews are also meaningful ways to show your appreciation.
